Full Day Plan:

Jump on a mountain bike and start riding from town on the way up north to the 13 Road, for a 50 minute biking challenge on bumpy dirt roads to the Elephant camp. Along the way you will see different villages and see how local people live their lives.   Before lunch we will begin with Elephant riding and feeding. After that your guide will take you by a long tail boat to Pak Ou Caves. One of the most respected and holiest sites of Luang Prabang, which has been a place of worship for more than a thousand years. The cave has more than 3000 Buddha statues inside. We will then stop by the Whisky Village before cycling back to Luang Prabang.


  • In the morning meet your guide in the hotel lobby or at Whisper Journeys office.
  • Start biking from town to the Elephant camp for elephant riding.
  • Enjoy lunch at Elephant camp.
  • Enjoy the magnificent scenery along the way and explore the mysterious Pak Ou caves which have over 3000 Buddha Statues.
  • Visit Ban Xang Hai (Whisky village) and observe their traditional weaving technique and how they make Lao Whisky (Lao Lao). Many kinds of snakes, insects and bugs are fermented and mixed with the whiskey.
  • Bike back to Luang Prabang.

Note:

Pak Ou caves can get crowded on weekends and national holidays.
